KAPti-nut is a high strenght, captive threaded fastening system for sheet metal ideally suited to multiple and automated insertion into thin gauge steel, aluminium and pre-finished materials.
Designed in the UK Unifast's KAPti-nut is capable of delivering significantly better result, in terms of cost effectiveness, performance and, now increasingly important, reduced environmental impact over traditional weld nuts or blind rivet nuts.
The inherent simplicity of the KAPti-nut system, with its single stroke pressing operation, manual or autofeed capabilities, which installs fasteners at the same time as manufacturing components, produces none of the quality problems found in traditional weld nut processes.
To quote one of our valued clients, "At the end of the day it's a cleaner, safer, more efficient way to attach one piece of metal to another, what more is there to say?"
Added to the KAPti-nut range, the KAPti-stud, offers a versatile alternative to weld studs, where processes require a "male" external threaded fastener. The KAPti-stud out-performs other studs that continue to be vulnerable to thread damage.
The KAPti-nut installation process produces none of the quality problems found in traditional weld nut processes.
Quick acting fasteners are widely used where rapid assembly and disassembly of units is vital or where service access is required, such as electrical cabinets, air conditioning units, compressors and inspection panels on engine covers. The automotive industry is a major user of quick acting fasteners; the noise shields under motorcars being a prime example.
Unifast's FAST turn quick acting fasteners are designed to be rapid and economic to use whilst maintaining reliability.
Their slip-on receptacles mean employing fewer tools and a variety of heads and finishes for the studs enable them to be ideally suited for their many applications.
The FAST turn stud is cold-headed and rolled on a new production line in Unifast's Turin factory. Manufactured from case hardened steel the fasteners may be supplied with various head styles including wing, slotted and phillips.
Weld Nuts
Unifast offers weld nuts for ultra high quality and special purpose needs. Our manufacturing process allows us to deliver defect rates significantly better than average suppliers are able to guarantee.
Special Products
This is a core area of our company’s expertise. Using our specialised design skills, market knowledge and leading edge technology Unifast is able to develop and manufacture fasteners for individual applications.
Our service includes:
Full CAD design and modelling
Manufacturing bespoke parts to CAD models, drawings or sketches
Supplying special purpose machines/systems
Providing full on-going support and training
Unifast is consistently successful in its re-engineering of existing or obsolete parts - simplifying processes, improving functionality and reducing both process time and production costs.
We work closely with our clients, understanding both their needs and the demands of a competitive marketplace. We understand the challenges they face and our innovative team helps them solve those challenges: providing the right information, getting the right product and achieving significant savings.
Complementary Fasteners
Unifast supplies a comprehensive range of steel, stainless steel and aluminium rivet nuts in various head and body styles. Also available are neoprene rubber nuts with brass or stainless steel moulded inserts, for use in applications where vibration and shock resistance are key considerations, and hollow wall anchors - re-usable screw anchors - designed for applications where wide grip ranges are required and poor hole quality likely. Unifast can also offer variants, with under-head barbs, for use in plasterboard.
